I think Bill would join me in saying this is the best “job” we have ever had.  Like Bill, my education and work experience for most of the past 30 years has been in business finance.  But my real interests are traveling and sports.  And the past 3 years I’ve been able to combine the two, and I have been having fun doing it!

Growing up in the Midwest, summer was the time for the family vacation.  We all piled into the fake-wood paneled station wagon.   (You know the one – with the back seat right next to the tailgate, facing out.  No NTSB then!)

The good part of living in that part of the country is you can go almost anywhere in 2 days.Our vacations were not just for entertainment purposes like amusement parks (which of course were great).  We used them for education purposes (Washington D.C., Gettysburg and other Civil War sites) and to visit the great National Park system (sight-seeing, camping, fishing, etc.)  You could encounter so many different landscapes.  Summer vacation was my first, simple introduction to travel.

I was fortunate to go on many incentive trips as my professional career advanced.  If you’re going to travel, that is the way to travel – on someone else’s dime!  I was able to enjoy trips to Europe, Hawaii, South Pacific, Mexico, Alaska, land trips, cruises, etc.  Most of these trips were fun and organized very well.  However, a few of them were not as organized as advertised.  All of those trips have helped me in assisting others who are trying to plan and define their own incentive trips.  Concerns such as costs can be managed as easily as allowing for relaxation instead of planning every hour for you and your guests.

Most of my work experience was entrepreneurial and working in small family businesses.  I’ve been involved with brand names such as Canon office equipment, Zodiac inflatable boats, and Harley Davidson motorcycles, all high-end products.  So representing Virtuoso for your travel needs is a natural fit that I am excited to be associated with.

Bill and I have been friends for 30 years.  During the last 3 years I was fortunate to work for an incentive trip company with Bill.  It was a great deal of work but even more fun!  So after the recent downturn when the company needed to cut costs, Bill and I wondered what each of us was going to do.  How can we do something that was as much fun and rewarding as the last one, where we can help people and stroke our passion for travel and sports?  Where we can finally say we have the perfect job and are happy and excited to get to work?  B&G Excellent Adventures, LLC became the answer to fuel our desires and passions to do just that.
